Our man with a van service sends a van and two or three movers who do the carrying, loading and unloading, so you are not left lifting while a driver waits. Vans leave our yard at O'Briens Yard, Birtley, seven days a week from 8am to 8pm, and every job runs under goods in transit insurance. It suits flats, a few rooms, student moves and single bulky items.

How is a man with a van different from van hire?
With a man and van the movers do the lifting and driving. With our you-load service you get a van and driver by the hour while your own helpers load.
Is man with a van cheaper than full removals?
For smaller moves it usually is. For a full family home, full removals are often better value than several van trips.
Can you take one bulky item?
Yes. Single bulky items such as a sofa or appliance are a common man and van booking.
How many movers come with the van?
Two or three, depending on the job. That is the difference between a man and van service and a van hire: the lifting, carrying and loading is done for you.
Is man and van cheaper than a full removals firm?
For a room, a flat or a part load, usually yes, because you are paying for a smaller crew and a smaller vehicle. For a full three or four bed house a proper removal is normally better value overall.
Can you do a same day or next day job?
Often yes, especially close to our Birtley base. Call early in the day and we will tell you honestly whether we can fit it rather than take the booking and let you down.
Do you cover stairs and flats without a lift?
Yes. Tell us the floor and whether there is a lift when you ask for a quote, because that decides how many movers we send.
Will you move a single sofa or just part of a house?
Yes. Part loads, single rooms and single items are all normal man and van work for us.
