These are the rules our movers wish every customer followed.
Box rules that prevent damage
- Small boxes for heavy things, large boxes for light things — never the other way round.
- Fill gaps so nothing shifts; a half-full box crushes when stacked.
- Tape the base in both directions, not just along the seam.
- Keep each box liftable by one person.
Fragile and awkward items
Plates travel on their edge, not flat. Glasses get individual wrapping. Lampshades go in their own box. Televisions are safest in their original box, or blanket-wrapped and carried upright.
If you're not confident with mirrors, artwork or glass tabletops, leave them — we carry the materials to protect them properly.
Labelling that speeds up the unload
- Label by destination room, so the crew places the box without asking.
- Mark fragile boxes on the top and one side.
- Number boxes per room so you notice immediately if one is missing.
- Keep an essentials box with you in the car, not in the van.
